- Used EVs in the UK are selling fastest out of 16 European countries featured in Indicata’s report

- Can the UK market now establish a sustainable value structure for EVs?
EVs have been selling faster in the UK in October than any other European country, according to Indicata’s Market Watch report, with the fastest-selling used cars all electric for the very first time.
The Nissan Leaf was the UK’s fastest-selling used car in October closely followed by the VW ID.3 and then the Tesla Model Y, with Market Day’s Supply (MDS) scores of just 21.1 days, 21.7 days and 22.3 days respectively.
Market Day’s Supply is derived from dividing the current inventory supply by the average daily retail sales rate over the past 45 days, with a lower number signifying high demand and quick sales.
Indicata’s Market Watch report features monthly used car insights from 16 European countries, and the UK reported the lowest average Market Days Supply for EVs of just 38 days, with zero emission cars continuing to rotate faster than any other powertrain.

“EVs have gradually become even better value during 2025, and this has contributed to an increased demand at a pace which is outweighing all other fuel types. It will be interesting to see whether the UK market is now able to establish a sustainable value structure for electrified vehicles,” said Dean Merritt, Indicata UK’s head of sales.
“Overall the UK used market is now becoming more competitive as dealers fight for sales against the background of economic uncertainty. Dealers are having to adopt sharper pricing strategies to create demand as borrowing rates remain high,” he added.
Meanwhile, Indicata is seeing the demand for used hybrids (HEV and PHEV) continue to grow steadily in the UK, appealing to drivers looking for a balanced mix of performance and range flexibility.
